Don't Read My Other Post!

Y'all, I've been reading everyone's post, and I just want to echo what Lauren said. My husband and I have been struggling to grapple with these very issues (inequity, racism, poverty, etc.) for the past four years, and it's why I'm in this program (and he'll be following in two years). We are all doing something by working our asses off to be awesome teachers, and I know we won't stop there, we'll advocate for children not just in the classroom or our schools, but we'll go beyond and engage our communities. We are not alone, and we do not need to fix these problems alone. It took many years and many people to get us where we are, and it's a long term plan to work toward equity, respect, and fairness for children. Let's not despair, let's organize.
