I really enjoyed doing and seeing the skits on Monday. It is helpful to see the modeling of good approaches to discipline or guidance and mediocre to poor modeling. It is really true that we have to really think about the approaches and the language we choose to use with children. Some of the language is so subtle and one variation of the approach can have such a different result or effect.
It was refreshing to have this humor after the intense video we saw about the children in Uganda. Those children were inspiring. I do not know how the children go on to cope with life after the horrific events they witnessed. The triumph of the human spirit is unbelievable. I do not understand how anyone can cope with that amount of pain.
These are just some thoughts from the day. I will see you all tomorrow at the Children's Museum.
