Anyone else feel like their head is spinning?!
Man, I have to say innocence is bliss! It has been less then three weeks of grad school and I feel like someone took my head and played soccer with it and then gave it back to me. Everything is a muddle of mixed up ideas and thoughts of what will be best practices when I have my own classroom. Less then three weeks and we have tackled major theorists, political parties, inequalities in schools, Archimedes Principle and not to mention trying to figure out registration! So, my thought is this…what the heck will my head feel like a year from now!? I look on the next year with excitement, apprehension, nervousness, and enthusiasm. It will be interesting to see where my thoughts have landed a year from now. And now I am going to stop thinking about school for the rest of the night (I hope) and watch the episode of The Office I DVRed!

I completely agree with you! It has been a real eye opener so far! Some of this stuff is hard to swallow and I'm not talking about science! I'm talking about the video about kids in Alcholi tribe (not sure of the spelling) and the reading about apartheid going on in U.S. schools. As for this class, I'm happy I am not just simply learning theories but I am seeing them in practice during skits and group activities. Really good way of envisioning them in the future classroom. Last class was really eye-opening about the power a teacher has and how a reaction can make a student to feel. I have a feeling I am going to need to remind myself of that activity when I am actually teaching and the school year is winding down.
