  1. Top 5 ingredients:
    1. Provide a Welcoming Classroom: A student should feel comfortable in his or her environment. A welcoming classroom provides a good foundation and an encouraging atmosphere for a student to learn..
    2. Use hands on material: Not everything can be hands on, but in my experience students learn best when they are able to interact with the material. It helps turn abstract ideas into tangible ones.
    3. Teach to the student's interest: By observing discussion and taking note of what the children are interested in, I can incorporate those interests into my lesson plans Students probably will absorb the material better when they can relate to it.
    4. Safety: It is important that students remain safe in the classroom for obvious reasons. No one should get hurt.
    5. Respect: The teacher should have control of the classroom that comes from the respect the students have for the teacher. Each child and teacher should respect what each other are saying and who they are as people.

I believe children need a supportive home life and engaging, age appropriate class material.
I believe teachers should always put the children's needs before anything else, make sure they are being an effective teacher, and not leaving any child out/behind.
I believe schools should fight for equal education for all schools and be child-centered.
